Let Go & Let God

I’m giving up Facebook for Lent this year (among other things). It’s a 40 day fast. Why fast? We fast so that we can make room for something else, for someone else. That something else must be that which is life-giving, blessed, and that which helps us strive for the holiness we are all called to. I’m giving up Facebook (amongst other things) to focus myself on that which really matters: my God, my wife, my daughters, my family, my ministry. Too much time is wasted, I admit, on things like social media. For some even, it’s to the point of addiction. So, on this Lenten journey through the desert, I pray for simplicity, for a deeper meaning, for a denial of self, for discipline, and for freedom from the shackles that keep us bound.

I pray to take up my cross and follow Jesus in an intense way, more than ever.

I let go and I let God.

  1. I, too, am giving up Facebook and making room for more prayer in my life. Good luck on your Lenten journey :)
